So what's the easiest way to get to use the tubs and facilities... if you don't want to take a workshop? I believe you have to rent a room, if they have availability. But is it possible to get a "three hour pass" or something, by reserving a massage or something? And do they still provide access afterhours to the public?

Re: Staying at Esalen
Sat, October 14, 2006 - 3:49 PMI believe that you can get a two hour pass if you are getting a massage. There is the community hours at the baths, but this is something like around 2 a.m. and you have to have a reservation. You can stay overnight if they have space without having to take a workshop. But why not take a workshop? If you are short on cash, you can have a sleeping bag space where you stay in the meeting rooms in the evening when the workshop is on break and you can work in the kitchen for a couple hours to reduce your fees even further.
